D is Drafting and G is for Grilled Cheese!

Hi, long time no see! I'm sure everyone enjoyed Elly's and Lucas' blog posts updating us on research and all the fun things we do in our free time. This week has been a little more hectic than usual for the VWT team because we were finishing up drafting our paper! We have made great progress this week, especially in preparation for an update meeting with Dr. Apul. It was great to meet with her and hear her thoughts on our research!

Although we've been staying in the Vila more than usual this week, we've still made time to hang out and have fun! On Monday, Elly and I stayed at ICTA until they closed, and when we got home, we were exhausted. Kelsey decided to be the best teammate ever and made us (and Lucas) grilled cheese for dinner! Kelsey also adopted Rocky, so he got to sleep in our room!

Tuesday after work, our whole team got together to plan for our upcoming trip to Italy! (We're leaving tonight!) It took a while, so after it was over some of the team went and got crepes in San Cugat. I stayed behind to do some laundry (which was overdue).

Finally, yesterday (Wednesday) was the VWT's meeting with Dr. Apul. We got a lot of good feedback from Dr. Apul, and we're feeling like we have a clear path to finishing up our paper! After our meeting, some of us went into the city to look for shoes because.... my sneakers fell apart! It's hard to find my shoe size here, but eventually I had to settle on a pair of plain shoes from Primark. Then, we grabbed some dinner from a burger place called Goiko!

On a side note, I want to shout out that yesterday was Armin's birthday! He turned one back home in Ohio!

Our time here in Spain is flying by, and we only have a week and a half left! It feels like just yesterday we were riding the train with all our luggage to the vila. It's been a truly amazing experience, and I can't wait for the blog to see all our research when we leave!
