We’ve had to say a few goodbyes throughout this last week as our team members from Utah found their way back home, and it’s been quiet here since. While we haven’t seen everything there is to see, we’ve done a ton over the last month during our time with them, and we don’t have too many more plans for the rest of our time in July. That means it’s back to research!
This week, I’m double-tasking as I share time for my current project to put some finishing touches on a manuscript for my research from last summer. The hope is to submit it by the end of the month, and I’m very excited to hit that milestone, even if takes some additional effort to eventually get published. I have to thank my advisors, Dr. Defne Apul and Dr. Anna Petit Boix, for their patience, persistence, inspiration, insight, guidance, calming humor—I could go on!—during this entire experience. I know we still have some work to do, but I couldn’t ask for better guidance!
I would share pictures of some of the Utah crew sleeping on the metro, but to save them from embarrassment, I’ll just share this other photo of them (without their permission) as tribute! Goodbye, friends! Thanks for the good times!
