We’re starting to wrap things up here in Barcelona with our final presentation scheduled for July 25th. I’ve been able to shift my focus back to my current project, but all of us—Clay, Michael, and I—are also working together these last couple weeks to make sure we feel good about how we end our time here. None of us are likely to finish our projects here completely, but we’d like to finish certain phases while we still call ICTA our home.
One of my advisors noted that it looks like I have a pretty clear path forward now, which I’m content to agree with; however, having prior research experience, I’m fortunate enough to know better. I know that—when it comes to research—even when the way seems clear and straight ahead, there are many more winding ways to come! I’ll bask in the clarity for the moment, but I’m prepared for something to take me off course soon.
We revisited some sights this weekend—something we hadn’t done yet! We went into the city to go back to a favorite restaurant for lunch, and since it was a nice day, we decided to take a stroll back to a park we had been to before. As opposed to the first time we visited the park, construction fencing around the fountain (pictured above) was gone, which was a welcoming surprise! It was much more memorable and photo-worthy without a fence to block the view. After the park, we stopped at a specialty juice spot, and Clay showed me how absolutely terrible I am at chess (photo evidence below).
