This past weekend, we went to the Maker Faire in Barcelona, a gathering of startups and new technologies for adults and children. The theme this year was smart cities, with exhibits showing how slight lifestyle and urban changes can influence the overall surrounding environment. ICTA-UAB had a table there as well as a number of plants (left) showing how urban gardening is feasible and sustainable. Another exhibit (right) showed how cities can be self-sustainable, feeding themself the necessary atmospheric and nutrient-based requirements to operate independently.
Fun Fact of the Day: Pigeons are quite aggressive here and do not hesitate to approach you for your snacks.
