We're 5 days away from leaving, and the reality of leaving is starting to settle in! This week we've really focused on travel logistics, and we're really looking forward to working together with Kelsey in person, rather than on Microsoft Teams. Although we've blogged about our team's progress before, we want to give a quick introduction of ourselves.
Kelsey is a second year Environmental Engineering student, and she's working on our paper's Introduction. Although she's a self proclaimed champion crier, she was also voted class clown in high-school. I guess that makes sense why she's the queen of Teams' reactions!
Elly is a first year graduate student, focusing on Environmental Engineering, and she's working on our paper's Results. She calls herself "Pennywise's Interior Decorator" because she designs sewers, but most of her hobbies actually take place above ground: like running! She wants to take that hobby to the next level and run with the bulls in Pamplona this summer.
I (Lauren) am a fourth year Computer Science and Engineering Technology major with a double major in Spanish. I spend a lot of time working on programming projects, but unfortunately I won't be able to code my way out of missing my cat for four weeks. I will, however, get to use my skills to be the data guru of our group!
As a group, we're so excited to work with Anna and Martí, as well as the rest of the ICTA group at UAB! We're making progress on our research, and we look forward to continuing that progress in Spain. T-minus 5 days!
