The Rockets Have Landed!

After approximately a day and a half of travels, we have finally arrived at UAB! We all met at the DTW on the day of our flights. While we were there, we actually ran into a fellow Rocket. Meet Rocky! We decided to travel with him, as he is also doing research here at UAB. A fun fact about Rocky is that he loves taking pictures, so you should all follow him on Instagram: @rocky.in.eu he would really appreciate the effort, plus it'd be fun to keep up with his shenanigans.

Then we started our flights. The first was about an hour long from Detroit to Philadelphia. During our layover, we all got lunch at Chickie and Pete's together. It was #yummy. After that we played some card games until our next flight. It was about 7 hours from Philly to Barcelona. It was a long time sitting down, and was a pretty tight fit sometimes, but the food and blankets provided to us made up for it.

Once we finally landed, it was time to navigate the city in order to get to the Vila. Learning how to use the metro, buy tickets, etc. was soooo fun! That is actually sarcastic. It was draining and demoralizing at times. Also it took a really long time, but nevertheless we persisted!

Now, we are getting ready for our first day in Spain. There are so many things to do and see, but we have 5 weeks for that :) Can't wait to check in again!
