Time Flies

I can't believe my time here in Barcelona is already up. The past six weeks have just flown by. I have accomplished what I came to accomplish and now I can go home fulfilled. Over the past six weeks I have successfully built two SWMM models, one for the University of Utah campus and one for the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and was able to run a multi-year analysis to better quantify the potential for rainwater harvesting on both campuses.

This is Joan, being Joan

While neither campus had data that was super readily available, UAB did not have any data for the dimensions or materials of their sewer network. Enter Joan, a new PhD student here at ICTA. He used to work for the city of Barcelona on their water systems, so he offered to walk around campus with me and help peer into all of the pipes to approximate their dimensions and know what the material was. So not only were we looking into the sewers but we also choose the hottest time of day to do such an activity. Needless to say it was a great bonding experience.

This is me, trying not to get too close but close enough to gather some data

I would like to thank Joan, Perla, and the rest of the ICTA group for the wonderful time that it has been!
