The past week and a half has been so exciting! Not only have we gotten to explore Barcelona and the surrounding areas, but we've also had the opportunity to work in a self-sufficient, "living," building!
The VWN team has made some great progress since we arrived here. Two of our members have presented on technical writing, we've drafted our manuscript, our methods have progressed, and our lit review game has gotten stronger! There's been a lot of collaboration between our team, the Self-Suffiency team, Clay, and Anna and Martí, which has been very helpful.
Verde (aka green) has been the color of the week. Verde for sostenible (aka sustainable), verde for graduation scarves of students in the villa, and verde for the color of google sheets/excel! Excitingly, the methods has made some great progress. We've made necessary conversions, filtered through FIVE MILLION (that's not an exaggeration) rows of CFS data, and read as much as possible about Hoekstra's water footprint before putting it to use.
After work, many of us like to go into the city or to towns nearby the Villa. The train station near our dorm is super convenient! We can take the S2 (which is green 👀) pretty much anywhere. Some of us stopped in San Cugat and tried out a chain called Viena!
We've also been exploring the Villa itself! We took a group trip to the laundromat, and we definitely spent way too long trying to figure the system out. Fun fact: soap and softener are included in your wash! Even rocky tagged along for this one.
As the weekend gets closer, we're looking forward to seeing more of Barcelona!
Laundry hauling suitcases was definitely blog-worthy! Rocky shoulda been washed if you ask me cause P U very stinky indeed! Splendid blog!
Like the updates. Great blog posts keeping us informed. Seriously, 5 million rows of data?? My head hurts. Sounds like progress is being made!
